I've been itching to do some collaging of late - so, to get some inspiration, I looked to our massive collection of vintage (1940s-1970s) National Geographic magazines. I love how all the colors have stayed so bright and vibrant over time (Love love love that Pisa photo)! Some of my favorite finds:







I also stumbled across a huge map of Europe from the June 1957 issue - then went back for more! Most of the supplement maps have been taken out of their respective issues over the years, but I managed to salvage about ten more. Now... what to do with all those maps?

I spent this past weekend in Savannah with my family and, while we didn't get a chance to try the fare at this wonderful-sounding restaurant, we were in awe of its outdoor space:





Don't you just love those swings and the gracefully patina-ed chandeliers?

Cha-Bella is an organic grill located right inside the Historic District of Savannah, Ga. They make their pasta fresh & use produce from their own organic garden - oh how I wish they had been open when we went by!

I absolutely adore this fun and cool kitchen update - it's amazing what you can do with a little time and chalkboard paint. I especially love what she did in lieu of wall decals:

Here's a little project I've been working on at the suggestion of one of my aunts to help get the attention of the "dream job" I mentioned a while ago in the blog. Let me just say - it seems to have worked. I'm not hired yet (the company is not currently hiring, but I am going in to meet with the woman in charge of hiring & to show her my book.)

I've been eyeing this print over at Jennifer Altman's Etsy shop, Fieryeyed. It just so captures the essence and enjoyability of ice cream (and the price doesn't hurt, either!)

I was also pleasantly surprised to find that she's also started a new blog, Nectar & Light, which of course is also filled with beautiful, inspirational photos.
