I'm no florist, but...

Just got home for darling L's wedding this weekend and seeing as the table was looking particularly empty I decided to take some flowers from my bouquet and make a little centerpiece:

Unfortunately I didn't have my camera to take pictures at the wedding... But it was absolutely lovely and L & M were simply beaming and radiating happiness. I was relieved that I didn't face-plant while walking down the aisle (never been in a wedding before, and I was actually really, really nervous!) Also! Totally had the bouquet stolen out of my hands when L threw it! I managed to hang on to one of the orchids, though, so we decided that meant a long engagement - phooey.

The Costa Rica Post

I still can't quite believe I was in Costa Rica only two weeks ago! What little of the country I saw has solidified my love for it - the beaches were beautiful and serene; the rainforest was pretty much awe-inspiring (not to mention all the wildlife we saw); and even though we didn't get to see Arenal Volcano erupt, just seeing it looming against the clouds was worth it (oh yeah - and the hot springs! Can't forget those!) Of 300+ photos between J and myself, I picked a few to give you a peek into beautiful Costa Rica.

Yes - that is a sloth(!) I could have reach out and snuggled him if I wanted

The view of Arenal Volcano from our room!!

A particularly pretty sight from San Jose

Dig those chairs & table (from an elementary school in San Jose)

Yumm... Carniceria (ok, well, actually it wasn't open, so I can't vouch for how good it is, but really, I don't think we ate anything that wasn't good the whole trip)

Another wildlife sighting - we actually saw 3 different types of monkeys while in the rainforest

This one bit J! :)

You could be a part time model

I made it back safe & sound, but it seems like I've been running around all over since I got home late last Thursday. I'll post some photos & detail bits of my week in Costa Rica later, but until then, check out the new Flight of the Conchords CD that was just released! I love these guys (and I can't wait for their second season on HBO to start back up)

{I absolutely adore the cover - the style totally fits the mood of the music & show - anyone know who designed/illustrated it?}

Bon Voyage

I'm leaving early early early tomorrow morning to go spend a few days at the beach, visit a volcano, and maybe even some hot springs for a week in Costa Rica with J and some friends. Have a lovely week, yourselves. Until next time...

Portraits are the new black.

(I may be the last to hear about this, but...) Looks like quirky artist & portrait-capture-er Carter Kustera is being represented over at Jonathan Adler!

I can't recall where I first heard about Carter... it may have been in an old issue of domino but don't quote me on that

Swirly Goodness

J took me out to Saigon Cafe (my favorite!) for some tasty tasty pho this weekend. Afterwards, we ran through the rain across the parking lot to try Yogurbelle (it appears that they're website is under construction...) which is, as we quickly learned, just like Pinkberry! Oh, if you only knew how badly I have been dying to try Pinkberry... then lo and behold, I find Yogurbelle:

{Sorry about the tiny, fuzzy shot... I only had the cell with me that night...}

For those that are unfamiliar with Pinkberry, I believe it is a Korean (please correct me if I'm wrong!) frozen yogurt phenomenon based in California (with stores in New York as well). You choose from either Original or Green Tea flavored frozen yogurt then choose from some fantastic toppings (kiwi, mango, blackberry among many others!) YUM.

You Are Important

I'm not quite sure why I love this new print by Stephanie Cinelli from 20x200, but I do - very much so. It must be something about the "realness" & just plain old everyday quality of the photo... Like peeking into someone's self-affirming life

Slow Motion

Just dropped by NotCot this afternoon for the first time in what seems like ages and I was excited to find this cool use of Helvetica (ah, my love...). What an awesome screensaver
